In February, Caritas Connections began offering assistance to Room at the Inn, an organization started by the Sisters of Divine Providence that is devoted to helping the homeless get back on their feet again. Room at the Inn, which is located in Bridgeton, houses up to 20 homeless individuals at a time during the day. The individuals then spend the night at host churches throughout the St. Louis area, including St. Gerard, which serves as a host site the 4th Sunday of every month.

Their goal is to become a 24/7 shelter once they have raised the money needed to convert their existing facility. In the meantime, Caritas has devoted a personal shopper to Room at the Inn who is providing personal care and cleaning products along with other items to help them better serve the underserved.
