The annual appeal for Caritas Connections is now underway with the hopes of raising new funding during a year that has been tremendously impacted by the coronavirus.

As the letter states, "Through the dark days of the pandemic there have been so many instances of the Holy Spirit shining through:

• volunteers making masks 
• volunteers organizing neighborhood canned food and personal care item drives when we couldn’t make our regular purchases through Schnucks and Dollar Tree 
• new volunteers and board members stepping in when other people needed to step away
 • an influx of donations when we had to cancel our main fundraiser, the golf tournament
• the donation of a new(ish) van for our operations
 • board members who took on the task of making a video and updating our website

We are so grateful for these moments and all the hard work that members of this community continue to do! The letter goes on to remind readers that as in the past, 95% of each dollar goes directly to helping the poor. There are no salaries and very minimal overhead. We are also blessed to once again have an anonymous donor who would like to issue a challenge grant. Every donation of $125 or more will be matched up to $20,000.
